On April 20, 2017, we were invited to present the War: A Children’s Book project to the U.S. Department of State, and to lead a discussion on how we should talk about war with kids. The wonderful, obliging staff of the State Department’s Ralph J. Bunche Library recorded the 50-minute event, and we invite our readers to watch and be a part of it here.

Following the panel, we had the opportunity to meet with staff from the State Department’s Office of Public Diplomacy and other federal offices to discuss getting War: A Children’s Book in school across America, Northern Ireland and the Balkans, as well as into refugee programs across the European Union and the Vatican. To achieve the goals they laid out for us, though, we still need funding assistance from our supporters to get books printed and distributed to all of these willing and needy locations and programs.
